How We Review CCTV Games

Here is where our numbers come from, how we score, and what we have not done.

Where facts come from

We rank sources in this order.

  1. The game's own screens. The rules, payouts and info screens at a casino. We have not captured any yet, so no number on this site is confirmed by a screen.
  2. The provider's documentation. For 155.io games we use docs.155.io (payouts, rules, features, provably fair). It is the best source we have today.
  3. Press and catalogs. Launch announcements and game catalogs. They help with dates and availability, but they copy each other and sometimes carry stale numbers.
  4. Player reports. Forum and review-site posts. We treat them as anecdotes and never as proof.

When sources disagree

We say so on the page. We print the number we use, the source, and the other number that people quote. The Rush Hour RTP and max win are an example: the provider's docs and several reviews differ. We do not average them and do not pick the friendlier one.

Labels you will see

"Per docs" means the provider documentation. "Per press" and "per reviews" mean outside sources. "Our math" means a figure we calculated, such as the implied chance of a bet, and not data from the provider.

What we have not done

We have not run test sessions, and we do not write "I played" or "we tested" anywhere. If we run a real test later, we will publish its method and results in full. Until then, scores rest on documents and published reviews.

How we score

Each game gets a score out of 10 on four criteria: bonus feature, win potential, gameplay, and design and sound. The overall score is their average, rounded to one decimal. The site owner approves the scores. "Design and sound" is the weakest criterion, since it needs the screens and audio that we have not seen. We do not score mobile play, because we cannot check it yet.

How often we recheck

We recheck each review every three months: RTP, bet limits, availability and the laws we mention. A page's "Updated" date changes only when its content changes, and each change goes into the update log at the bottom of the page.
